Description / Japanese Holly Fern
A shade border classic, the Japanese Holly Fern is the hardiest of evergreens, surviving and thriving in the harshest of temperature extremes.
Japanese Holly Fern's muted-green leaves sway on graceful fronds, its understated tones perfectly harmonizing with any variety of foliage, particularly as its leaves slowly turn from their delicate green of early spring, to a deeper shade through the summer.
While this evergreen beauty loves shade and plenty of moisture, it is incredibly hardy and will tolerate extreme heat and cold, needing no more than a bit of a spring trim to remove damaged fronds when winter has been exceptionally harsh.
This long-lived standby will reach approximately 24 inches tall and 16 inches wide. Zones 5-9.
