Description / Hemerocallis Storm of the Century
Parentage: 'Ida's Magic' × 'Thunder and Lightning'.
'Storm of the Century' is as showy as a king?s cloak, with velvety, royal purple sepals edged in ruffles and picoteed in gold! The lime throats add bright note to finish off the elegant appearance. The blooms are so magnificent that just one would be worth it, but 'Storm of the Century' is also highly prolific, featuring 3-way branching and a bud count of 21 to 25. This allows it to rebloom consistently over a longer season!
Daylily gets its name from the fact that the blooms only last one day, but 'Storm of the Century' makes up for it with constant rebloom. Notoriously easy to care for, tetraploid daylilies thrive in full sun (or just a bit of shade) in moist, well-drained soil. They are resistant to most pests and diseases and very robust. Perfect for beds, borders, woodland and meadow settings, this gorgeous daylily is simply a must-grow! Zones 5-10.
