A charming variegated variety, grown for its dramatic ornamental foliage, Hosta 'Mini Skirt' has thick, curvy blue-green leaves with creamy yellow margins that turn creamy white in summer as the centers become greener. Funnel-shaped pale lavender flowers, borne on proportionately sized scapes, bloom early to midsummer, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. The flowers make nice additions to floral arrangements.

A Hosta hybrid, commonly called hosta or plantain lily, Hosta 'Mini Skirt' has a short, compact, rounded mounded habit and a medium growth rate. Cold hardy, easy to grow, low maintenance, and very adaptable, Hosta 'Mini Skirt' grows best in highly filtered or dappled sun locations with organic, moist, well-draining soil having an acidic to neutral pH between 5.5 and 7.5, but it tolerates a wide range of soils. However, soils that provide more aeration for the roots, such as sandy loams are better than more compacted soils, like clay. Plants should not be allowed to dry out.
