Description / Astilbe 'Fireberry'
Astilbe Fireberry, also called the Fireberry false spiraea, grows to a decent height of around 16 inches. For the most part, this variety directs a majority of its energy toward its blooms, resulting in breath-taking flowers which are a vibrant pink. One can expect these blooms to fully manifest around early to mid summer. They also make the perfect variety for creating privacy barriers around one's garden, lawn or house. It does prefer rich soils that are well drained and frequently watered. Part to full shade seems to be the ideal environment for this variety to truly blossom to its potential. The variety will do well in zones four to nine. Adding a little moisture or mist to the flowers seems to make them bloom even more.
