Description / Pardon My Pink Bee Balm
Bee Balm comes of age with this new compact, well-branched, very heavy-blooming series that demonstrates terrific resistance to powdery mildew! The Pardon Me series is an improvement in every way over previous cultivars, and we are delighted to make it available to you this season.
Pardon My Pink sets full-size flowers on ultra-compact plants. Measuring 2½ to 3 inches wide, these brilliant pink blooms are magnets for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The blooms begin in midsummer and continue through the remainder of the season, topping the handsome, healthy dark green foliage on neat little plants just 10 to 12 inches high and not quite as wide. What a change from the rangy, mildew-prone native species!
Pardon My Pink has a compact, very well-branched habit, with shorter and more abundant stems filled with deep green leaves. No matter how humid or rainy your climate is, this plant will look as good in late August as it did in June! The bright flowers complement the foliage marvelously, adding a vibrant new shade to Monarda's color palette.
Introduced by our friends at Walters Gardens, Pardon My Pink is a must-have for the sunny to partly shady perennial border, cottage garden, or meadow. This Proven Winner® is fragrant and very easy to grow, making it a delightful presence in any moist, well-drained soil. Do not let it dry out, and it will repay you with years of beauty! Zones 4-9.
