Description / Espoma Organic® Garden-tone® Herb & Vegetable Food
The natural, safe way to fertilize your vegetables or herbs, Garden-tone provides all the macro-nutrients your plants need to produce bumper crops all season long, with a guaranteed analysis of 3% nitrogen, 4% phosphorous, and 4% potassium, plus an infusion of Bio-tone beneficial microbes that help your plants absorb nutrients and fight off disease.
This premium grade fertilizer contains only nutrient-rich ingredients, with no sludge or fillers. And all this garden goodness comes from all-natural organic ingredients that are completely safe for animals as well as the environment and that are slow-release, so the nutrients will not 'burn' your plants.
For the first application, amend the soil with 3½ pounds of Garden-tone per 50 square feet of garden bed. Every 3 cups equals about 1 pound. Work it thoroughly into the top 4 to 5 inches of soil.
We also recommend mixing in some compost, humus, or peat moss for proper drainage and even more nutrients. For applications throughout the season, sprinkle about ⅓ cup per plant, adding to the side of the row, about 3 inches from the plant's stem.
This formula is designed to last in the soil for months without degrading, but when you give plants food that they love this much, they sure seem to gobble it up fast. At the height of the growing season, large and vigorous plants will appreciate being fed once a month.
