Mississippi Planting Zones & Schedule

Mississippi’s USDA growing zones range from Zone 7 to Zone 9, depending on where you are in the state. Outside of a limited region in the northernmost part of the state which falls in Zone 7b, most of central Mississippi falls in Zones 8a and 8b. 

The southernmost parts of Mississippi are in Zone 9, with the Biloxi region in Zone 9a and the coastal areas around Hancock and Harrison counties in Zone 9b. The mild climate in Mississippi is suitable for a wide range of warm-season and cool-season crops.
