Missouri Planting Zones & Schedule
Missouri’s USDA growing zones range from Zone 5 to Zone 8, depending on where you are in the state. The farther south you go, the warmer it gets, with the northernmost part of the state falling into Zone 5b and the rest of Mississippi divided among Zones 6 and 7. A small part of the Bootheel region along the southernmost border is in Zone 8a.
The long growing season in Missouri is suitable for cool-season crops like spinach, broccoli, and kale as well as warm-season vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers.
