New Hampshire Planting Zones & Schedule

New Hampshire’s USDA growing zones range from Zone 3 to Zone 6, depending on where you are in the state. The majority of the state falls in Zones 5a, 5b, and 6a where warm-season crops should be started early indoors and transplanted after the final frost.

As you move north of Littleton, it gets a little colder. The northernmost parts of New Hampshire are in Zones 3b, 4a, and 4b, where it’s best to focus on cold-hardy crops broccoli, cabbage, leafy greens, and root vegetables.

  • *Keep in mind that frost can occur before or after these dates. Watch your local weather to determine the best time to plant.
