Texas Planting Zones & Schedule
Texas’s USDA growing zones range from Zone 6 to Zone 10, depending on where you are in the state. Northern Texas generally falls in Zones 6b to 7b while the southernmost part of the state, along the eastern coast, ranges from 9a to 10b.
Most of Texas falls in Zones 8 and 9 where you can grow a wide range of crops, including cool-weather vegetables, warm-season crops, and heat-loving crops like sweet potatoes and okra.
