These peppers are thick-walled and blocky, about 4 inches tall and wide, with a crisp, mild flavor and terrific sweetness. They mature from green to red on the plant, and are ideal for stuffing, slicing into rings for dips and salad toppings, and chopping into crisp bite-sized nibbles. Expect a big harvest from these vigorous plants, which reach 28 to 30 inches high.
Part of the secret of California Wonder's success is its resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, which keeps the foliage healthy and strong all season long. You can't go wrong with this trusted favorite.
Start seeds indoors or, in climate with short growing seasons, outdoors at least one week after last frost. If starting indoors, allow 7 to 10 weeks for the seeds to mature into seedlings large enough to transplant safely. Set seedlings (or thin direct sown seedlings) 2 feet apart in full sun. If planting many seedlings, space rows about 3 feet apart. Fruit is most nutritious if allowed to ripen on the plant.

Review of the green pepper 0 people found this helpfulI received my seed packet and it was alleged to have 20 seeds per packet, but this packet only had 15 seeds. I did plant all 15 seeds indoors and I have zero seeds that germinated, just like with my squash seeds. I have planted indoors for years but this is the first time I have had not even one seed germinate. Again, I am very disappointed. I had very good luck last year with Park Seed seeds, choosing them over Gurney...but it appears not this year. I don't know what to do now...do you?
