Description / Fragaria 'Eclair' Strawberry

The three most important traits Fragaria 'Eclair' Strawberry has to offer are flavor, flavor, and flavor. This June-bearer is exceptionally tasty, with experts detecting notes of raspberry and orange underlying the classic strawberry flavor. No one will ever mistake it for a store-bought berry—it delivers fantastic taste and succulent texture on a whole new level.

Reaching just 6 to 8 inches high but quick to spread 12 to 15 inches wide, Fragaria 'Eclair' Strawberry is robust and vigorous, thanks to superior disease resistance. If you have had trouble growing strawberries before, this is the one to try for big, healthy crops every time.

Harvest Fragaria 'Eclair's charming wedge-bottomed, large red fruit as soon as it ripens for freezing, or let it soften just a bit for canning and fresh eating. We think it will become your favorite strawberry in garden or container.

Did not grow 0 people found this helpful

The Eclair strawberry bundle 25 arrived and I was suspicious of the health as compare to the Tributes. Tributes had leaves. Eclairs didn't. The crowns looked unalive but these were bareroot so I took that into consideration (roots seemed fine). It was hard planting them to tell the difference between crown and root given status. I watered. We had rain. It's been two weeks. The tributes are busy being plants. The Eclair nada. Nothing.

Plants sent were in terrible condition & replacenments were the same. 0 people found this helpful

Plants received were mostly dead roots without any greenery,. Only Five of the twenty five plants survived after planting. Replacements were sent free of charge but the replacement plants were in the same condition. Less than half with any signs of green. Have planted all twenty five but don't expect the majority will survive.

I planted these strawberries in Northern Calif and they grew so fast! But the best thing was that they tasted so heavenly, sweet wonderful flavor with a luscious consistency! We've planted many different strawberries over time and this ECLAIR STRAWBERRY IS THE BEST FOR FRESH FOR FRESH EATING! WE'VE moved from CA to Arizona mountains and we're ordering a bunch more Eclair Strawberries right now!! Awesome!!!????????

Florida farmer 0 people found this helpful

I ordered these "plants" in December hoping to get them in January. We plant strawberries early in the season here in Central Florida. I suppose I should have fully read the description, because you don't actually get plants, you get a "Pack of 25 bareroots", which I call slips. The shipment arrived on 2/21/17. Planting "bareroots" now, in Central Florida, is a gamble. Our weather quickly turns from nice to very hot. The good news is the "plants" are supposed to be heat tolerate, we shall see. Yes, I am a bit skeptical but hopeful. We planted the "bareroots" this morning and I will post again in a month and let everyone know how things are working out. I hope I get a few nice strawberries out of this.
