Description / Graffiti Hybrid Cauliflower Seeds

Days to Maturity: 80 from transplant

Easily the darkest and "truest" of the purple cauliflowers, Graffiti is here to brighten the plate and jazz up the vegetable patch. This widely adapted, vigorous variety sets large heads of deep purple that keep their color even after cooking (reaching a shade of mauve). Perfect for coastal climates, the far north, and the humidity-laden south and southwest, it's both a gourmet selection and a tried-and-true dependable performer in the garden.

These heavy, well-packed heads intensify their shade of violet with exposure to sun, and need less wrapper protection than most others. They make a splendid fall crop, but are also suitable for spring. Highly resistant to downy mildew, they can withstand rainy and humid climates far easier than older varieties. They just look spectacular!

Feel free to steam, sauté, or lightly boil Graffiti—it may become a bit less intense, but won't lose its essential purple hues. To keep the color even stronger, add a dollop of lemon juice or vinegar to the pot before cooking.

Tastier than white cauliflower 0 people found this helpful

I find most cauliflower too bland, but this beautiful purple variety has an almost nutty flavor. This variety also grows much better than other purple varieties I've tried. Hardy, beautiful, and tasty. Highly recommend.

I received these seeds last summer. I had 12 or 14 seeds. Definitely not 20. The weird weather & aninal eating sprouts were my biggest problems. The sprouts I have now are beautiful, colorful, big & strong. I will buy these again bc the quality is wonderful. The results are to where seeds from here makes cauliflower planting easy. I'm happy for that!

beautiful and yummy 0 people found this helpful

We love this raw in a salad or sliced and roasted or caramelized in a pan. I don't usually like cauliflower because it's so bland, but this has a wonderful lightly nutty flavor. It grows well, requires little care, makes medium size heads, and is hardy. It's a handsome plant that makes beautiful, impressive, delicious heads.

An Update on Purple Cauliflower 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

The first time I reviewed this, I decided not to grow this again because of the weird purple soup I made. But after the first head, I stuck with roasting the other heads of Graffiti for eating and here I am again ordering more. It is delicious and it's beautiful. I was going to leave it out of my garden this year, but I have been dreaming about it since the last head was eaten out of the garden in the fall.

Beautiful Cauliflower 0 people found this helpful

This cauliflower was easy to grow. In fact, it grew right through a very hot summer too. The heads were around 3 pounds each. I liked growing this cauliflower, but will likely switch back to white and cheddar varieties only because once cooked and made into soup, the color was a little off-putting. Creamy purple soup! It was pretty but reminded me of Go-gurt or something. The taste was decent, but it was hard to feel excited about eating purple soup and often times, this is what I do with cauliflower.

If you like Cauliflower, you will love this one. My wife and I grew these for the first time this year.Talk about an easy plant to grow. No covering up the head on this one. Beautiful purple color and great tasting. We have never grown an easier or hardier Cauliflower than this one !! Plan to add the Veronica (Lime green) and Cheddar (Orange) this year.
