Description / Helleborus Honeymoon® 'Rio Carnival'
You?ve enjoyed the double flowered Hellebores of the Wedding Party® series, try the equally lovely single flowered selections of the HONEYMOON® Series from hybridizer Hans Hansen. In his breeding work, he selects for plants with notable vigor, showy floral displays with large numbers of blossoms per plant, and rich flower colors. 'Rio Carnival' boasts pale yellow flowers with heavy burgundy red speckling along the insides of the delicate petals. These blooms sit delicately atop abundant evergreen foliage. Not to mention, they are deer and rabbit resistant so you don't need to worry about pesky pests nibbling on these beautiful blooms. Helleborus are the harbinger of spring, blooming for six weeks or more in the late winter and early spring. They thrive in the shade so you can all some bold color to your shady corners and beds. Helleborus were named the Perennial Plant Association's Plant of the Year in 2005. They are perfect perennials when you need a splash of color as you weary of winter's grip. You'll find yourself dancing with joy as these flowers light up your shade garden with color in the early spring.
