All-America Selections (AAS) Winner 2001

Long, elegant 8 inch ears are packed with remarkable crunchy-sweet kernels on this All-America Selection winner. One of an entirely new type of corn called TripleSweet, Honey Select hybrid combines the crunchy texture of sugary-enhanced types with the extra sweetness and great holding ability of the supersweets. The result? Delicious!

TripleSweet corn actually contains 2 kernel types, selected and reselected to create an ear that is 75% sugary-enhanced and 25% supersweet. Ideal for home gardens, it needs no isolation from other corn, and has great staying power on the stalk.

Honey Select hybrid was applauded by the AAS judges both for taste and ease of growth. These plump golden kernels are the best-tasting you will find, and they keep so well, you don't have to harvest them all at once. Taste, texture, and hold, that's the TripleSweet advantage.

Direct sow corn seeds after the last spring frost, when the soil has warmed. Corn is famously easy to grow in any sunny spot, but be sure to plant it outdoors—it doesn't transplant well. To extend your corn harvest, make successive sowings weekly up until mid-July, or plant varieties with differing maturity dates. Consider growing a Three Sisters planting as well—corn, beans, and squash planted together all help each other grow and produce their best, as the Native Americans knew centuries ago.

Corn seed in packet sizes of 1 lb. or smaller is now available for shipment to Canada!

Yup! Never tasted any corn better than thisthis good. 2 people found this helpful

The germination is VERY reliable. We can it and something magic happens in the process. It kind of tastes slightly caramelized. Some friends asked for another pint as a Christmas gift. It hits perfect ripeness at about 1395 to 1420 growing degree units. First discovered this a few years ago by chance on a seed rack. Now it's hard to find except through Park Seed.

Excellent corn 2 people found this helpful

We just finished putting corn in our freezer tonight and enjoyed eating off the cob as we worked. This is our first year with this corn and it has a great taste and good crunch. The plants stood up well to several strong storms. Many stalks had only one ear but the ears were very full and big.

Honey Select Corn seed 0 people found this helpful

I am VERY disappointed with the Honey Select Corn seed that was sent to us. we had ONLY 14 plants of the 200 that were in the package that germinated!!! Obviously I will not be ordering seeds from your company, with this kind of unbelievable germination rate!

Very particular how planted. 0 people found this helpful

Only about four feet of 100 feet of planted row germinated. Conditions had to be perfect for it to germinate. I’ll have to replant with something else.

BEST corn EVER 2 people found this helpful

    Rating

I have been growing corn in a garden since I was 11 (that's over 50 years). I absolutely LOVE fresh corn, and love it so much I don't even eat store-bought corn any more because it is so starchy and lame in comparison. For the past 32 years I have lived on a 5-acre "hobby farm" so I have plenty of room to grow different varieties, and one year I added Honey Select Triple Sweet to the mix, and the first ear I tried, it was like the Hallelujah Chorus of Angels was going off in my mouth. Unbelievable! Not that other varieties (like Avalon for white corn) aren't almost as good, but this is still in my humble opinion the BEST. There really is a slight hint of honey! And SO sweet! When they come in, I will sit and eat a potful (6 ears) of corn each night, and thankfully they hold their sweetness on the stalk for easily 2 weeks, so I just binge eat this stuff every night for dinner for a couple of weeks. Awesome. If you like corn, you MUST try this!

Great Tasting Corn 0 people found this helpful

I started growing this variety 3 years ago and have had excellent results in Western NC. The corn stands well and has resisted several large windstorms. I freeze this corn as well as eat fresh and it is my favorite. I wait until the end of May to plant it and get very good germination.

Very Sweet 1 people found this helpful

I'm currently splitting my 3 plantings between Incredible, Serendipity, and Honey Select. They are all great germinating, strong varieties. All freeze well. Honey Select seems to me the one that freezes the best. It remains very sweet. We froze in early September 2017 are finishing up now and the Honey Select STILL has outstanding flavor.

One of sweetest 0 people found this helpful

I am in northeast Indiana and wait until late May and early June to plant super sweets because the germination is better for me. We've planted Incredible, Serendipity, and Honey Select the last two years. All are outstanding. Honey Select freezes extremely well. I had 90% + germination and very nice ears.

The best corn ever. 1 people found this helpful

With super sweet corn I have a difficult time to get it to germinate. No problems with this. I planted this and my old time favorite Honey and Pearl. The Honey and Pearl went untouched as this stuff was the best tasting corn I've ever grown. Planning next years garden now and will be planting only this variety but will planting much more.

I agree, best corn ever 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

This is truly one of the best corn I have ever eaten. The plants grew and produced well. I planted in groups of 3 rows that were only 5 foot long. supposedly too small of an area to pollinate well, but i have always gotten great production and well filled out perfect ears. There are only 2 of us, so I have to grow small batches planted 2 weeks apart. This corn is well worth the space even in a very small garden like mine.

Big Ears 1 people found this helpful

So big it looks like field corn but is the tenderest and sweetest we've ever grown. Great on the cob or niblets and keeps longer than any we've ever grown.
