Days to Maturity: 45

Mini-Me F1 Organic Cucumber, a mini Beit Alpha (Cucumis sativa) variety, among the more popular cucumber types, is grown as a fruit vegetable. Mini-Me is an early variety that sets small, uniform, nearly spineless fruits, approximately 2 to 3 inches long, with thin, smooth skin and mild, slightly sweet flavor. Use these snack-sized mini cucumbers in fresh foods and beverages or pickle them.

Mini-Me F1 Organic Cucumber, an herbaceous annual, is a member of the cucurbit family (Curcurbitaceae). Cucumbers are tropical plants that love warm temperatures and high humidity. Dependable and high yielding, Mini-Me grows vigorously, quickly forming a low-growing, far-spreading vine. Training the tendril-bearing vines to grow vertically on support ensures better air circulation, produces straighter fruit, helps prevent disease, and makes harvest easier.

Easy to grow from seed, Mini-Me F1 Organic Cucumber prefers full sun and loose, rich, slightly acid, well-drained soil. Cucumbers require frequent watering for proper growth, but leaves should be kept dry. If plants are watered too infrequently or grown in too much shade, fruits will be bitter tasting. Regular composting is also recommended. Harvest cucumbers when young, before they over ripen and turn yellow. Harvest often to promote heavier fruit product. Mini-Me is also suitable for indoor gardens and hydroponic growing.

Mini-Me is parthenocarpic, producing only female flowers, and does not require pollination, making cultivation super easy. However, if it is planted near other cucumbers, pollination will occur, and seeds will form.

A warm-season vegetable, sensitive to cold temperatures and frost, cucumber seed can be direct sown into warm spring soil after the last frost. For an earlier harvest, it can be started indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost date and transplanted into the garden or containers after all danger of frost has passed. Succession plant another crop at 4 weeks for a longer harvest time. Flowers begin to set fruit with night temperatures between 55 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Protect plants with row covers if temperatures are expected to dip below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Mulching helps to moderate soil temperature as well as to maintain soil moisture and control weeds.

If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.

Very fast germination, fast growing season, bountiful harvest!
Review by Prolific grower
My first time growing these 2024 season. I absolutely loved them. Size, color, and taste were perfect! I planted some early and some direct sow from seed and ALL plants thrived and produced SO many cucumbers! I plan to order more, I shared many with family and they make perfect refrigerator pickles bite sized! Loved them! Wish I could add a photo because I have many of them!

Great flavor
Review by David
I didn't have any germination issues, they aren't heavy producing vines but they have an excellent flavor and texture. I have clay soil in zone 7.

abundance of cukes

Regardless of cucumber variety, the planting of the seeds in the gardens or pots greatly relates to the full moon in your area. I plant both is southern vermont and outside boston. Usually it is the full moon at the end of May or beginning of June. I wouldn't say 100% gemination rate but close to it and the Mini-me is abundant this year in both locations. we haven't started picking in vermont but there is a very good fruit set.

Delicious cucumbers!
Review by Cari
We started one seed into our hydro garden machine in late April, transplanted it into a large planter late May under a grow light and since late June have been harvesting a few of these a week. The Florida sun is too brutal to grow outdoors in the summer so this was an experiment, but quite successful! The cucumbers are the perfect size for our favorite wraps and great in salads. We still have more on the vines growing up the wire shelf we're using for our indoor garden experiment!

Poor germination, no production
Review by Krista
Only 3 of the seeds germinated and only 1 of those seedlings grew to produce flowers. That 1 plant only produced 1 small cucumber. I had planted several other cucumber varieties that all had great germination and fantastic production. I was very disappointed because I had high hopes for the mini-me cucumbers.

Low germination rate
Review by Jules
Out of 10 seeds, only 2 germinated. I’m so sad because this looked like the perfect cucumber for me!
