Park's One-Step® Bio Dome

Description / Park's One-Step® Bio Dome
Love the Bio Dome but can't resist Park's One-Steps®, the compressed peat disks that swell up to a good transplant size? Now you can have both!
Our new Bio Dome contains the same climate control and base-watering features as the rest, but instead of a Styrofoam planting block with sponges, you get 8 wells for your One-Steps!® The green tray is recessed to fit 8 compressed peat disks, which swell up when immersed in water, and offer a great growing environment for seeds and seedlings. Also known as Jiffy-7s, these disks have been popular for many years. And now you can combine them with the Bio Dome environment for the best of both worlds!
Park's Bio Dome Seed Starter is the most popular and successful way to begin seeds and grow on healthy seedlings we have ever used. Gardeners rave about it, because the sturdy green base tray is ideal for bottom-watering and -feeding, while the clear top dome is ventilated for humidity control and premium air circulation. You control the airflow in the Bio Dome, so you can tailor the atmosphere to the needs of the specific type of seeds you are germinating and plants you are growing!
At transplant time, simply plant the entire One-Step®, outer netting and all, into garden or container. The roots grow out and through the net, which biodegrades completely over time. There's no easier nor more successful way to garden!
The overall dimensions of Park's One-Step® Bio Dome are as follows:
Base: 1 15/16" H x 12 15/16"L x 6 15/16"W.
Top: 4 5/8"H x 12 1/2"L x 7 1/8"W

Would buy again 0 people found this helpfulI have not used this yet but will soon. It has good quality. This will be a great start this year I plain to start my catnip indoors to get head start. And my cats should be very happy.

It works! 0 people found this helpfulIt works great with sprouting squash. Need to make sure it's in a location with bottom heat. Would recommend as it is made sturdy and dome vents are a great added feature.

Good Idea but... 0 people found this helpfulI bought 2 of these a year ago and the idea would be great if the 8 recessed spaces at the bottom were large enough to accomodate Jiffy 7.. The designer probably designed them to fit the smallest Jiffy but that limits the type of plants you need to grow, can only grow very small plants in smaller Jiffys. F.M.

Jiffys 0 people found this helpfulJiffy 5 are too small and Jiffy 7 too large, neither one stays stable and flat in the recess. F.M.

Very Poor Customer Service 4 people found this helpfulThis spring, I bought 2 One-Step Bio Domes from the Park Seed Company. While carefully following all the directions in their Seed Starting Handbook, I planted two Park Seed Company zinnia seeds in each of the Bio Domes’ 16 disks. Out of the16 disks, only 2 seedlings came up. I then planted 60 more seeds from the very same packets in a Deep-Root Seed Starting System ordered from another supplier. This time, 50 healthy seedlings came up. 50 seedlings from 60 seeds. I sent this information to Park Seed Company’s Customer Service Department, along with these comments: “What could possibly be going wrong? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.” I have sent this message to Park Seed Company’s Customer Service Department six times in the past four weeks. I received one generic, formulaic reply that stated, “During our peak season it may take longer than normal to receive a reply to your email inquiry” and suggesting I try calling a phone number (that was always busy). That was it. No concern. No help. To cut my losses, I have now drilled holes into the bottoms of Park Seed Company’s two worthless One-Step Bio Domes, filled them with seedling mix, and am simply using them as planting trays. (I could have bought planting trays at Walmart for only a couple dollars instead of the nearly $45.00 Parks charges for these two One-Step Bio Domes.) My advice to other gardeners is to stay away from Park Seed Company. They have failed to realize that standing behind one’s products and providing sterling customer service is much more important than designing a colorful website. Doris Kennedy K01096805
