Description / Park's Picks Mix Zinnia Seeds

The brightest and best large-flowered zinnias we know for the garden, bar none. This Park's Picks Mix Zinnia Seeds offers stunning dahlia-flowered blooms at the end of very long, strong stems, in 12 bright colors. The waxy, tightly packed petals create a pompon bloom that is almost incredibly full, dotted by a cheerful greenish-yellow central eye. And these tall, bushy plants just keep producing all season long.

These well-branched, vigorous Park's Picks Mix Zinnia plants reach about 39 inches high in the garden. Perfect for the vase, the blooms last and last. No wonder they're Park Picks. This mix contains coral, crimson, salmon-rose, scarlet, red, rose, lilac, pink, purple, orange, yellow, and white.

Park's Picks Mix Zinnia Seeds are one of the easiest annuals to grow, bringing bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators and beneficial insects into the garden. They are outstanding in beds, borders, containers, and are the perfect cut flower—the more you cut, the more you get.

Park's Picks Mix Zinnias thrive in the sun and heat of summer, and ask only for well-drained soil. Their biggest enemy is mildew, so water them with a soaker hose or other ground-based spray to minimize wetting the foliage—or, if this isn't possible, water them early in the day, so that the leaves can dry off before nightfall. Space the plants generously to prevent overcrowding. When cutting the blooms for the vase, trim off all the foliage; unlike the blooms, it does not age well. Direct sow or start ahead indoors.

Park's Pick Gotta Have 'em 4 people found this helpful

These are at the top of my Park Seed list EVERY year! If you want nonstop blooms, height, color, and beauty in your garden, these are for you! When I say height expect 3- 4 feet, typically 4 feet. Incredible blooms until frost. Wow! Love these. Germination is great as well.

Wow! Started theses indoors and transplanted late due to cold spring. Theses plants grew like a weed! They are over 5 ft tall ( I need a better support system for next year) and bloom like crazy. Beautiful bright color too.

Disappointed 3 people found this helpful

    Rating

The variety of seeds I received in the 2023 Parks Picks Mix produced flowers that were very small and not at all impressive. I have bought these in the past and they have produced big beautiful blooms just like in the Park seed photo. I was very disappointed this year.

Long-lasting and extra large blooms just as the description claims. They are sturdy in the winds as well. Can’t wait to harvest the seeds and see them again next year.

Seed Starting Information 1 people found this helpful

The see packet points me to "Get Growing," and I can't seem to find that on your website. The information on your packet is VERY limited and MUCH LESS than provided by other seed companies! The brochure is very generic, rather than addressing my specific purchases.

Highly Recommended! 7 people found this helpful

These are are beautiful! I had a good array of colors germinate. I planted many different flowers for the birds, bees and butterflies but these zinnias were preferred by all. We had a female Ruby-Throated hummer stopping by all summer plus a couple migrants, 13 different butterfly species and many bees. I did have to spray with a baking soda mix to combat powdery mildew.

not as advertised 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

Less than half of these germinated. Then they grew slowly - there was nothing but leaves until mid August and then only a few flowers. And, not the variety of colors described. So far they are all pink and most have only one layer of petals. Poor performance.

My Favorite Flowers 2 people found this helpful

    Rating

These are beautiful, vibrant and large flowers that are the star of my flower garden. (Zone 5a) These help attract hummingbirds! When cut, they seem to grow more heads, and the cut flowers last and last. Germination was easy and all of mine grew. I started indoors in soil blocks and then a grow light when germinated. Then transplanted outdoors and BOOM they grew SO tall and gorgeous. Colors are amazing. Give them a try. They are sure to brighten your home and garden!

Wanted good seed to start this year so I purchased these from Park instead of Menards or lowes where i usually go. Cost twice as much and only about 20% of the seeds germinated. Burpee seeds left from last year Did much better

Zinnia Parks Pick *#2315) - Spacing 2 people found this helpful

    Rating

The plant width shown in the description is too close. I plant these every year and they really need at 2-3 feet apart, otherwise they overcrowd and are more prone to develop mildewed dusted leaves later in the season. If they are too close it will be impossible to stake them, which they sometimes need because they grow so high. I looked at the spacing suggestions from other seed companies, and they all said one foot for some reason. I also bought the Zinderella zinnias which are only two feet tall, and even they suggest two feet spacing. I like these large ones because the stem joints are far enough apart that you can cut one flower without sacrificing un-bloomed buds. I always start them indoor because if they are a few inches high when I put them in the ground, the rabbits don't eat them.

Very pretty 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

Some of these looked like the picture, some didn't. But they were very pretty regardless...and very large! Make sure to space them far apart and don't plant them too close to a fence, or they will eventually fall over like mine did.

Parks Picks Zinnia Mix is Outstanding! 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

These Zinnias really outdid themselves! Gorgeous color for months and months, all the way through October! Plants easily reached 6' high and I had gorgeous cut flowers all summer and fall. Many gorgeous colors - mostly yellow, orange and pink but also white, apricot, fuschia, red, etc. Will definitely be buying these every year to brighten my garden and flower beds!

Consistent Quality 9 people found this helpful

    Rating

We have been growing these for 3 years now. They are very consistent in size and quality. They benefit greatly from cutting frequently, and above the correct node, the first one from the top which has a visible bud. By pruning in this manner, you will have so many flowers, you will be able to share with your neighbors. Very strong growers, don't plant them too close, they will spread out to 3 feet, and hold up to hard rains if you give them plenty of sun. Use some baking soda and soap if powdery mildew occurs. Bonus, DEER WILL NOT EAT ZINNIAS!

Floriferous! 6 people found this helpful

    Rating

These zinnias look exactly like the picture on Park's website. They grew to about 4 ft tall and produced hundreds of blooms, plenty for bouquets and to share with many butterflies and hummingbirds. They are still blooming prolifically in the last week of September in MN, zone 4. No signs of powdery mildew in spite of a very wet, cool summer. Highly recommend!

Terrible germination 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

Planted fresh seed in 2018, next to 3 other zinnia varieties, and while the others germinated very well, Parks Picks germinated maybe 10%. It wasn't my husbandry, it was the seeds. Didn't bother to contact Parks, but now that I'm ordering in 2019, it still irks me. Planted Benary's Giant Zinnia from Johnny's (100% germ) where these were to go. That all said, Park's Dreamland Zinnia germinated and performed remarkably.

Huge flowers and bright, bright, bright! Tall and sturdy. My flowers have not begun to go to seed yet and they have been there for 2 months with these giant flower heads. Definitely a long lived bloom and look like something Dr. Seuss would have drawn.
