Description / 'Pinca' Zinnia Seeds

Zinnia goes designer with this exciting cactus-flowered, fully double rosy-pink beauty. Huge 5-inch flowers are packed with long, slender petals that open pale green, then quickly blush a rich shade of pink. Terrific for cutting, and absolutely showstopping in the garden.

The long, spidery petals are held in a beautifully symmetrical form on these giant blooms. Long-lasting and vibrant, they begin opening with the first hint of summer heat and continue right into autumn in mild and warm climates. Carried on sturdy stems, they last and last. And like all zinnia, they're "cut-and-come-again," meaning the quicker you pick or deadhead the blooms, the quicker you get new buds to replace them.

'Pinca' reaches 36 inches high and about 18 inches wide, with good branching and excellent disease resistance. It's as easy as can be to start from seed—just direct sow the seeds into warm spring soil exposed to full sunshine, and before you know it, little green shoots are pushing up. This plant does need good soil drainage and appreciates not being too crowded in the garden. Other than that, it's utterly carefree. Few annuals are quicker, easier, or more rewarding.

If you love cut flowers, 'Pinca' is the answer to your dreams. It's very free-flowering, so you can always dash out and find a few flowers for that big arrangement or birthday bouquet. Try it combined with pompon-shaped 'Tudor' Zinnia for an amazing pink-and-purple combo that lasts and lasts. You're going to have such fun with this new zinnia.

Not Pink but cool in form 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

I only managed to get three seedlings to adult hood due to going out of town and having the majority dry out. With that said those that reached adult hood were not Pink. Two whites and a yellow. Also, for me the blooms were few and far in between. I don’t think I’ll be trying this variety again.

    Response from store

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Pinca Zinnia Elegans. We’re sorry to hear that they didn’t quite live up to your expectations, especially with the color and bloom production. It can definitely be frustrating when a variety doesn’t perform as planned.

Stress from drying out could have impacted the bloom frequency and possibly the colors, but we want to make sure our seeds are delivering on what we promise. We’ll pass along your feedback to our product team to take a closer look.

Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope your next growing season is a successful one!

These seeds do NOT produce flowers that are pink! 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

To be accurate, a few of them are pink, but many of them are yellow, orange, salmon, whatever. What surprises me is that I have bought these seeds from both Jung and from Park over a period of 6 or 8 years. Like Lucy and her football, I keep believing the description that they are PINK and they mostly are NOT! I have called the customer service numbers and expressed my frustration but nobody seems to be interested in talking to the vendor supplying the seeds and getting them to either make the seeds match the description or change the description. (I think both Jung and Park are using the same vendor because the picture and the description are virtually identical.) I try to grow a blue/pink/raspberry/white garden and every time I believe the write-up, I end up with a lot of yellow and orange in the middle. The plants are nice and like most zinnias, long lasting in bouquets, but stop describing them as just PINK! (And if the seeds are ever consistently pink, please let me know because I would LOVE to buy them again!)

    Response from store

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our zinnias. First, we want to sincerely apologize for the inconsistency in the colors and for the frustration it has caused over the years. We completely understand how disappointing it is to plant seeds expecting a color only to find completely different colors at bloom time.

We hear you, and we appreciate your honest feedback. Descriptions should reflect the reality of what our customers can expect, and we’ve shared your concerns with our product team to work with our seed supplier to ensure greater accuracy.

We’re glad to hear that you’ve appreciated the overall quality and longevity of the plants. Zinnias are known for their vibrant blooms and durability, and it’s wonderful to know they performed well in that regard. However, we understand that doesn’t fully make up for the disappointment in the color variety.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback. Insights like yours help us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with the garden experience you envision in the future.

Gorgeous zinnias 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

I adore zinnias. My Pinca Zinnias were absolutely gorgeous...non-stop blooms! They intermingled with some beautiful dahlias and the combo was very striking...and the dahlias covered up the somewhat spindly foliage that others have mentioned. Also, I was shocked to see them grow to almost 6 feet! I've never had zinnias grow that tall. I'm definitely ordering them again for 2024.

Wrong color 1 people found this helpful

I’ve grown Pinca before. This time the seeds were mislabeled. The zinnias were were a vivid saffron yellow. Not pink at all. Wrong color for my pink, white, chartreuse garden. Disappointed.

Disappointed 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

I was excited to try this variety of zinnias. The zinnias I got germinated easily and are really starting to take off, but they are mostly yellows and oranges. Most have traditional zinnia petals. So far, I have gotten an orange one with the slender petals. Perhaps they were packaged incorrectly??? Not what I had hoped for, but still beautiful zinnias.

Absolutely beautiful, but not pink 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

Grew a bed of Park's Pincas this year. The colors are autumn colors. Shades of orange. Only one pink flower out of a dozen and not the pink in the picture, its fucia. So note, this packet is mixed flowers seeds.. They are nevertheless . beautiful. I never crew the cactus type before. The petals are slightly shaggy, not much, still look like zinnias. Interesting and a delight to see what you get. I recommend them!

Not So Pink 0 people found this helpful

I planted and labeled a half dozen Pinca seeds under lights @ the end of winter, planning on four large pink dahlia flowered zinnias to help fill in a half wine barrel planter. All six germinated within a week and grew well. Three months later I have four different colors, none of them matching the catalog description or photo. Dahlia styled blooms of salmon, apricot and butter yellow, and one pastel off-pink which more closely resembles a 'Senora' double type zinnia. Heck, I can make my own mystery pollen chuck of zinnia seeds, no shipping charges required. Recalculating...

Pinca Zinnias 0 people found this helpful

No problem getting these to sprout. However, they like to flop over, so be prepared for that. Also, they do NOT all come out pink! There are various shades of pink and also there's some very very Harley Davidson orange flowering plants. These are BRIGHT pink and orange. Very 1970s shades. That said, I like them a lot, just wasn't expecting such a quiet riot. They do last a long time, and the flowers keep getting larger. Yes, I would buy these seeds again.

Great flowers, spindly habit 1 people found this helpful

These flowers are like no zinnias I've seen, almost dahlia-like. The height makes the overall plant kind of spindly, but the flowers grab the attention. And the butterflies love them!

Beautiful Zinnia but... 0 people found this helpful

I'm a zinnia nut. I wanted to try Pinca because I've been wanting a softer ruffled pink zinnia. It is a very beautiful flower, but mine are not true pink. They are more salmon in color. They are still beautiful and have grown nicely.

Did not receive these seeds when ordered 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

I ordered these and they just bloomed to my disappointment. They were not this variety at all! They are zinnias but one was white and one is yellow and neither of them have this shape of leaves. I planted these seeds in a garden bed designed to be pink and green only so these flowers, which are at the center of my arrangement since they are tall, so boy match at all and stick out like a sore thumb. WHAT A bummer. I also ordered and planted white salvia from this company and they came up as tomatoes. I KNOW these weren't seeds that self seeded from last year because I put new potting soil in my raised beds and hadn't grown tomatoes in the bed for 2 years. Plus these disappointing plants sprouted EXACTLY where I seeded the "pink zinnias" and "white salvia". Two thumbs down.
