Description / Starburst Hybrid Radish Seeds

Day to Maturity: 60

Step up to gourmet dining when you grow Starburst hybrid radish. This Chinese type grows roots that are as big as tangerines and as bright red as watermelons. Great for pickling as well as fresh eating, they are a terrific addition to the garden.

Expect Starburst globes to reach 2 to 2½ inches in diameter, with a white rind, red flesh, and pale green shoots. They mature slowly, with excellent disease and pest fighting ability. And they taste as good as they look!

Radishes are the speed demons of the vegetable patch, ready in well under a month and so easy to grow. They're great for containers, and make a great "first crop" for children because they mature so quickly. They look charming too, with their bright red interiors and clean white exteriors.

Park’s Seeds always germinate and grow well. These radishes are pretty and tasty fresh, and they’re pretty in a steamer of mixed winter root crops.

The Starburst Hybrid radishes are a perfect size for use in a spiralizer! The pinkish flesh stands out nicely in a salad. They are flavorful but milder than a daikon radish.

I bought this variety for the different look in a salad. I planted the seeds, some outside in the garden and some in my green house. The ones in the green house sprouted and went to greens only, no radishes, only thin red & white long roots and lots of good looking greens. I left them until the greens started to seed before pulling them all out. The ones I plante in the garden took longer to start, took off, my other radishes came and went while these were doing nothing at all. The small greens on top (max was 4 to 5 inches of greens) went to seed. I pulled the plants to find the same thing as before, red and white thin long roots, no formation of a radish whatsoever. The other radishes I had planted in the same area, grew properly and produced very fine radishes, so I know it was not the soil or any other defect in my part as the rest of the radishes were fine except this variety. I would like to hear others' reviews that have grown this variety and how it did for them. I am in zone 9.
