Acorus 'Ogon' has a moderate growth rate and slowly spreads by rhizomes. It's a beautiful specimen or accent plant for containers or beds and borders. Mass planted, it's an excellent edging groundcover. The plant is suitable for foundation plantings, naturalized areas, rain gardens, and rock gardens.
An easy-care plant, Acorus 'Ogon' prefers full to part shade and moist, regularly irrigated soil. It grows well in a wide variety of conditions, including in wet, boggy areas around ponds, streams, and in woodlands. The plant dislikes heat, however, and may scorch in hot, sunny, dry conditions.
