Calla Collection bulbs are Zantedeschia spp. varieties, commonly known as calla lilies. Native to South Africa, these plants are tender perennials in Zones 8-10 but are often grown as annuals or houseplants in cooler climates. They perform equally well in gardens or containers, whether outdoors or indoors, with three bulbs usually filling a 10- to 12-inch pot. Calla lilies are excellent specimen plants and look their best when massed or grouped, especially in beds and borders.
Virtually trouble-free, calla lilies are easy to grow and flower best in sunny locations, though they will tolerate partial shadeparticularly in hot summer climates, where full morning sun and afternoon shade may be preferable. They adapt to a wide range of soils but prefer loose, organically rich, moisture-retentive, well-drained soil.
