This delosperma was discovered growing at a high elevation in South Africa and brought to this country by plant expert Panayoti Kelaidis of the Denver Botanic Garden. Hardy from one end of the country to the other, Fire Spinner begins flowering in late spring in most climates, continuing through midsummer.
