Pennsylvania Planting Zones & Schedule

Pennsylvania’s USDA growing zones range from Zone 5b to Zone 8a, depending on where you are in the state. The majority of the state falls in Zones 6a, 6b, and 7a where you can grow a wide variety of plants including peppers, tomatoes, leafy greens, and root vegetables.

The southeastern part of the state, around Philadelphia, ranges from Zone 7b to 8a while some areas along the northern border with New York are in Zone 5b.
