Description / Anemone 'Honorine Jobert'
This beloved fall-blooming perennial lights up the partly shaded garden with clean white blooms sporting buttery centers. Bobbing atop long, slender stems held well above the neat 12-inch mound of foliage, this superb cutflower is also a garden standout, adding a lightness and cottonball softness to the perennial border just when the garden needs color most desperately!
'Honorine Jobert' is a Japanese Windflower with a perfection of form and symmetry that make every bloom a masterpiece! The semi-double flowers are 2 to 3 inches wide, with a yellow center capped by a celery-green eye! The petal tips are slightly ruffled, giving the impression of even more color and depth. They begin in late summer, just when the rest of the perennial garden is going to the dogs, and continue well into fall. Magnificent!
Ideal for the garden or the vase, 'Honorine Jobert' performs best in rich organic soil kept consistently moist. A charming and prolific shade garden performer! Space plants about 10 inches apart. Zones 4-8.
