Bells Of Ireland Seeds
Description / Bells Of Ireland Seeds
Bells Of Ireland is one of the most beautiful cutflowers of all, making a lovely companion to any other flowering or foliage stem in the vase. The fresh lime-green color and pretty shape of these bells complements everything around it, evoking the fresh beauty of the spring garden no matter what season it is!
The bells arise so densely up and down the stems of these well-branched plants that they hide the foliage, and they remain fresh for many weeks in late spring and early summer. Bells Of Ireland also makes a great subject for dried arrangements, where its unusual form can be enjoyed for months!
To cut Bells Of Ireland for drying, simply cut the stem when the calyces are fresh, remove the leaves, and hang upside-down in an airy location not subject to too much heat (dry cellars are ideal).
These seeds are easy to start indoors for a spring transplant. They take about 3 weeks (sometimes even a bit longer) to germinate, but once they get going, there's no stopping 'em! Transplant after all danger of frost, when the seedlings have at least 2 sets of true leaves. Packet is 50 seeds.

Bells for Beginners 0 people found this helpfulI had trouble with Bells germinating for 2 years, but this is the first time I bought them from Park seed. Germination was amazing. I’m surprised you don’t sell out the first week on these, but glad you don’t!

Charming!! 0 people found this helpfulGreat germination. I wanted to grow something different. Loved the results .plant in masses for best visual. Gave some plants to my neighbor. Will definitely grow again. I cut some for a birthday bouquet everyone said how beautiful they were.

Very very erratic germination 0 people found this helpfulPlanted most of the packet in seed plugs. After 6 weeks I had 3 seedlings out of 24 seeds planted. I started another flat and after 2 weeks now I have one more seedling out of 8 seeds planted. The packet says erratic germination but I was not prepared for such a low germination rate. I am hoping that they take off once I get then out in the garden.

Easy to germinate! 0 people found this helpfulPackage warns of variable germination but these were so easy for us. My daughter knocked one tray over and we put it in the corner and left it and these still came up! We have a very bright sun room with in floor heat that is about 70-73 at all times, these love it! I think close to 100% germination rate.
