A dwarf strap-leafed variety, 'Gingerland' has large, lance-shaped leaves with a cranberry freckled creamy white base and dark green margins. In ideal conditions, it produces inconspicuous, calla-like flowers hidden amongst the leaves.
Thriving in heat and humidity, this easy-to-grow tropical foliage plant should be planted in full to dappled shade in average to moist soil that has a temperature of at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Caladium bulbs originated in the Amazon Basin, which is why they require and thrive in the warm summer day and night temperatures.
Uses: Container, Mixed Beds, Shade Gardens, Borders, Houseplants
Companion Plants: Annuals, Hosta, Ferns, Foliage Plants
