Chamaecyparis Soft Serve® Gold False Cypress

Chamaecyparis Soft Serve® Gold False Cypress brings cheerful gold foliage to the garden throughout the year. This evergreen combines its bright color with a naturally pyramidal habit, giving you a defined shape without a demanding pruning routine. Its foliage supplies lasting interest through winter, and deer resistance makes it a useful choice where browsing influences your plant selections. This selection is part of the Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Shrubs collection.

Use it as a specimen, repeat it in a hedge, or work it into shrub and perennial borders for a consistent foliage accent. It is also listed for container use, with mature size an important consideration when choosing its long term position. Plants can reach 10 feet tall and 10 feet wide, so give this false cypress space to develop its full form.

Plant in full sun to part sun in USDA Zones 4 through 8. It adapts to well drained soils but should not be allowed to sit in dry conditions. Little pruning is needed; if shaping is desired, do it in early summer. An easy care habit keeps maintenance straightforward, while resistance to burning from sun and wind helps distinguish this golden selection from other foliage choices.
