All-America Selections (AAS) Winner 2013

Fleuroselect Gold Medal 2012

Winner of both the highly coveted Fleuroselect Gold Medal and an All-America Selection when it was introduced in seed form, Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' Mix is available as quick-growing plants.

This stunning mix offers well-branched, uniform, compact plants in brilliant colors. They bounce back after wind or rain, need very little water to thrive, and repeat all season long without deadheading. In short: a gardener's dream come true.

Bright daisies of cream, yellow, gold, orange, scarlet, red, and purple top these stocky little plants from midsummer all the way into fall, replacing themselves without you having to cut or deadhead them. Every color in the mix reaches about the same size, and the flowers are very long-lasting in garden or vase. Best of all, Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' Mix demonstrates great resistance to wind and rain, bouncing back after a storm much more effectively than other echinacea varieties.

Once Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' Mix establishes itself in your garden—within a single season with a little TLC—it is very drought-tolerant, and stands up to heat, humidity, and cold effortlessly. This makes it a godsend in today's hotter summers and unpredictable winters.

The plants reach 18 to 30 inches high and about 12 to 20 inches wide, with dark green foliage and very strong, thick stems supporting the bounty of blooms. Space plants about 10 to 14 inches apart in the sunny garden, and then jump back. You're about to be overwhelmed with brilliant nonstop color.

Bred by Jian Ping Ren of Illinois, Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' Mix is from the same program as PowWow Wild Berry. It's a bright new day for echinacea, and this lively mix is THE plant you must add to your garden this year.

Fantastic Coneflower Colors
Review by P.Donald
I got red, yellow, salmon and orange blossoms. I found them harder to grow than common purple coneflowers, slower to germinate and slow growth from seedling to bed. The plants are also smaller than common coneflowers. But the colors! They are probably one of the longest lasting blossoms of any plant I have grown. The petals stick straight out and the blossom can be fairly large. I should have crowded them together at 12" spacing because they didn't grow very wide here (Zone 9b, Tampa).

Heaviest, Continuous Bloomer in my Landscape!
Review by Becki P
I bought 8 of these plants locally last summer, just on their 'looks' alone when I moved into a new home. I was amazed at the different colors and hues of the blooms on just one plant and the colors really are exactly as the photos show them. I watered the plants only when I actually planted them in full sun (a blistering 92 degree day no less) and then got busy unpacking and forgot all about them. They took right off anyway and continued to bloom and only slowed down by Thanksgiving, which is unheard of for coneflowers here in Ohio! I have decades of flower gardening and landscape experience and highly recommend this perennial to anyone, even if you have a black thumb. I'll be ordering more of this plant to give to my daughter for her own landscape.
