All-America Selections (AAS) Ornamental Seed Winner 2023
The first seed coleus to win the AAS Winner designation, Coral Candy Premium Sun Coleus is a tropical evergreen tender perennial, typically grown as an annual, offering late spring through autumn interest. Coral Candy Premium Sun Coleus has unique, gracefully draping, multicolored foliage with narrow, serrated leaves that add bold patterns, rich textures, and bright colors to a garden bed or patio pot. The center of each leaf is typically a coral-pink color that gradually blends into a green margin, but the range of colors expressed by each plant differs depending on environmental conditions.
Densely leaved, robust, and rounded, Coral Candy Premium Sun Coleus has a tight, uniformly compact, mounded habit and a fast growth rate. Shown to best effect when grouped or massed, coleus makes beautiful border edging and is great filler for a hanging basket or container garden, outdoors or indoors. Just 3 seeds are enough to amply fill a 14- to 16-inch container.
Coral Candy Premium Sun Coleus is easy to grow and low maintenance, growing best in shady to partially sunny locations with organically rich, loose, moist, well-draining soil, having a neutral to acidic pH between 6 and 7. The plant stands up to rain, wind, and heat, and tolerates full sun in regions with high humidity (Zones 9-10). But if humidity is low, leaves will scorch in full sun. Deer tend to leave coleus alone.
This seed comes as a pellet. Pelleted seeds are small seeds that have been clay-coated to make them larger and more uniform in size and shape, making them easier to handle when planting.
