Like all cosmos, this charming variety thrives in the sunny garden, drawing butterflies and compliments by the dozen. Simply direct sow the seeds wherever you'd like lots of quick, long-lasting color. 2½ months later the plants are in full bloom. The flowers are great in vases too, keeping their color and holding up their heads over a long period. And the plants will thrive even in poor dry soils, making them ideal for blazing-hot trouble spots as well as beds, borders, and walkways.

0 people found this helpfulReally loved these Cosmic Orange Cosmos. I started some from seed and also direct sowed and they were unstoppable either way. The plants are very strong and stout for a Cosmos and the flowers are very bright and radiant. Mine only grew to about 12", but we had very high rainfall and low sunshine in Virginia last Summer.

Great Plant 0 people found this helpfulStarted Cosmos "Cosmic" Orange this year from seed to fill in some holes in my butterfly garden. Wonderful plant! Mine have grown to about 15" - 20" tall and 12" - 15" wide and are covered in blooms. The color has a great "throw" and can be seen from anywhere in the yard! After their first (very prolific!) bloom, they started to "stall" a bit. I deadheaded them, gave some liquid fertilizer, and in a week or two they were blooming well again. These are planted in the North Dallas, TX area, zone 7b. Highly recommended. Great with "Cosmic" Yellow.
