Description / Daphne Perfume Princess™ White

Daphne Perfume Princess™ is a flowering evergreen shrub offering year-round interest, blooming heavily from mid-winter to late spring, with possible sporadic summer blooms. This stunning plant is much showier than most daphne, setting extra-large (4x larger) clusters along each branch, rather than just at the tips. Opening from lilac-pink buds, the soft pink flowers softly fade to white and exude a strong floral fragrance with light citrus notes. The sweet-scented flowering stems make excellent cuts for floral displays that will perfume a room. The glossy, deep green leaves are very attractive and add vivid color and texture to the garden all year.

A Daphne odoraxbholua, commonly called daphne, fragrant daphne, or winter daphne, Perfume Princess has a dense, upright, sightly spreading habit and a moderate growth rate. Shown to best effect when massed or grouped, the shrub is perfect for beds, borders, and foundation plantings. It is ideal for low-maintenance loose or clipped hedges. And it is also an excellent choice for a container garden.

Versatile, robust, and easy care, Perfume Princess requires virtually no maintenance. It grows best in sunny to partly sunny locations with well-draining soil having a slightly acidic pH, but it performs in a wide range of soils. It tolerates both cold and hot climates and resists disease. The plant's watering needs are light to moderate. Pruning is unnecessary, but any desired shaping should be done after flowering.
