Description / Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnia Seeds

Here it is, the bedding zinnia mix of our dreams (Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnia Seeds). The Zahara® series introduced in 2009 immediately became famous for its resistance to mildew and leaf spot, its nonstop blooms, and its larger flower size. Now we're delighted to announce a mix of 3 double-flowered varieties: brilliant yellow, brightest cherry red, and rich orange fire.

These blooms are fully 2½ inches wide, and there's more of them—they pop up all over super-compact plants, drawing bees and butterflies into the garden and absolutely wowing those hot, dry beds and water-starved containers. Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnias are not really grown for cut flowers, but you'll find yourself picking plenty for bouquets . . . and why not? New flowers will open to replace them double-quick.

Renowned for its ability to withstand heat, humidity, drought, and just about anything else, the Zahara® series is the first bedding zinnia that can truly claim to be disease-resistant. Mildew is a traditional enemy of the zinnia, but Zahara's® got it licked. (Or should we say "dried".) Luckily, Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnias are also very long-blooming, prepared to continue well into autumn as long as the hot weather holds. What a joy.

This is the annual you'll want along that baking-hot driveway or cement path, crowding against the house (the walls reflect heat), and beautifying the patio (which never gets watered often enough). Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnia is just 16 to 20 inches high and wide, it can be planted a bit more closely than other bedding zinnias, again thanks to the mildew resistance. No need to worry about the foliage "touching".

Direct sow Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnia Seed when the soil has already warmed and spring is well underway, this plant will flower within 9 to 10 weeks of sowing. But if you want to get an earlier start, or if that hot April turns into a chilly May, no fear—Double Zahara™ Brilliant Mix Zinnia Seeds will grow vigorously all the same, and simply wait for the warm weather before blooming. Why can't all plants be this cooperative.

SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!! I have purchased these seeds & others from Park for the last 5 years, but NO MORE!!! Nothing germinated this year & I did nothing different from past years. (Including Zinnias, Coleus, Petunias, Gerbera Daisy & sunflowers) All so easy to grow but NOTHING GERMINATED this year - Waste of time & money!!!!

A winner 2 people found this helpful

I started these seeds indoors in a seed-starting mix and had excellent germination. The seedlings were sturdy and soon were ready to harden off outdoors and were easily transplanted into the garden. Despite weeks of extremely hot, dry weather in early summer followed by weeks of cooler wet weather, these zinnias thrived. The plants are uniform in height and remained covered with blooms. Admittedly I've been lazy about dead-heading these zinnias but they don't seem to mind my neglect. They remain healthy and I've had no problems with mildew or insects. I wish each of these colors would be sold individually. This is a winner!

Zinnia Mix 2 people found this helpful

    Rating

I have been buying seeds from Park Seed for a few years, and these zinnias did not perform as well as the others I have gotten. These took forever to germinate, and I planted them at the same time as other seeds. They are very short, only about 8" tops! They took all summer to bloom and I have one orange and one yellow. The colors are a little different. I don't recommend this mix as much as the others!

Amazing flower production, very sturdy and the colors are gorgeous, so bright and vibrant. Germination was 25/25. Will definitely buy again for next year.
