Days to Maturity: 70 to 105

Aloha Blue Ageratum, a dwarf F1 hybrid, is a frost-tender annual offering summer through early autumn interest, often blooming until first frost. Early flowering, the plant sets soft, fluffy, aster-like flowers in exceptional and long-lasting shades of blue-lavender. Borne in terminal clusters of 5 to 15, the dainty blooms attract bees and butterflies to the garden.

An Ageratum houstonianum cultivar, commonly called ageratum, billygoatweed, bluemink, and floss flower, Aloha Blue is a low-growing plant with vigorous growth and a compact, mounding habit of deep green heart-shaped leaves that makes great edging or ground cover. It's perfect for mixed beds, borders, and containers.

Easy to grow, cold hardy, and dependable, Aloha Blue Ageratum grows best in locations with full sun to partial shade and rich, moist, well-draining soils, but it tolerates dry conditions. Deadheading spent blooms promotes and prolongs blooming. Cover plants on cold nights to extend the life of the plant. Aloha Blue Ageratum is relatively pest and disease free and deer and rabbit resistant.

Direct sow ageratum seeds after last frost date or start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost date and transplant into the garden once the threat of frost has passed.

If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.

This seed comes as a pellet. Pelleted seeds are small seeds that have been clay-coated to make them larger and more uniform in size and shape, making them easier to handle when planting.

Today, January 31, 2025 I received my Ageratum Aloha seeds I ordered on January 20, 2025. These seeds travel across the border to Canada and I am impress with the speed this happen. Seeds are placed in plastic dispenser and securely packed inside the box. I am a frequent flower seed on line purchaser and receiving seeds in dispenser happened to me for the first time. What a pity the exchange rate between Canadian and US dollar is so inconvenient ($1 US cost $1.4846 CAN on this transaction) , otherwise I would be ordering seeds from US more often.

    Response from store
