Description / Early Spring Burpless Hybrid Cucumber Seeds

Days to Maturity: 52

These long, slender cukes offer a crisp, mild, bitter-free and burpless bite all season long. Firm and easy to peel, they should become your cucumber of choice.

Expect Early Spring Burpless to reach 8 to 12 inches long in no time. For straight fruit, stake them on a cucumber support. Or, if you like the look of curly cukes, let them grow on the ground, where they'll twist up.

Burpless cucumbers are known for their tasty, non-astringent flesh, small seed cavity, and crisp, thin skin that never needs peeling. They are premium cukes for eating fresh.

Direct sow seeds in a sunny spot after all danger of frost is past or start indoors and transplant when the first true leaf appears. Cucumbers can be allowed to grow on the ground, but for longer, straighter fruit and to save garden space, grow them in a cage or on a trellis, allowing 1 foot between plants. Keep them well watered and keep the fruits picked promptly.

I like this cucumber and its unusual shape. I bought this seed again because I would like to grow this one Spring 2024 under my trellis. I only got one to grow this year and would like more.

Bitter! 0 people found this helpful

I bought these and planted them and got a reminder of my youth. I haven't had a bitter cucumber since I was a child in the 1960s. Not all are bitter but enough of them are that I will not grow this variety again.

I bought this one because of the unusual shape. In spring all cucumbers I bought will be planted and will be planned to grow on a trellis.

Different tasting Cuke 0 people found this helpful

These early cucumbers were very prolific. Large yields very quickly. They died out quicker my other cucumbers and the flavor was not the same as you would expect from a freshly grown slicing cucumber. As the description states, very crisp and not bitter. However, not sweet and lacked traditional cucumber flavor. I wouldn't recommend, if you are accustomed to the sweeter Marketmore cuke. Our spring and summer was much hotter than normal, maybe that impacted the taste??
