Petunia Wave has taken the gardening world by storm since its introduction a few years ago. Its spreading habit is just stunning, covering ground at the rate of several inches every single day, and trailing lots of big, colorful blooms as it goes. Easy Wave Burgundy Star doesn't reach quite as far as the older Waves, but it stands up "taller," reaching 6 to 12 inches high and trailing 2½ to 3 feet or more. You will love the endless bloom power and the improved shape of this plant, which is ideal for hanging baskets, window boxes, and flowerpots of all kinds.
Easy to grow from our convenient pelleted seed, which should be started indoors 5 to 6 weeks before transplant to the early-spring garden. Set out plants when all danger of frost is past. Easy Wave Burgundy Star will begin blooming 10 to 12 weeks after sowing. It is magnificent in hanging baskets, window boxes, and large containers, as well as an unrivalled ground cover for bright sun. You will love this brand-new look for the Wave family.
This seed comes as a "pellet". "Pelleted" seeds are small seeds that have been clay-coated to make them larger and more uniform in size and shape, making them easier to handle when planting.

Disappointed 0 people found this helpfulFor the second year, I've had very poor success with the Easy Wave petunias. Last year, I planted seeds from three varieties using Seed Starting Peat Pellets. I had fairly good germination, but very poor survival of the the plants. This year, I purchased a Bio Dome, followed the directions for using the dome, again planted 3 different varieties, and had 100% germination; but all but three of the seedlings eventually died. I contacted Park Seed to find out if I was doing something wrong with the Bio Dome and got some good feedback and recommendations, which I applied to a second planting. Unfortunately, I've had the same results--about 90% germination this time, but the seedlings died after about 2 weeks. Conversely, I had great results with the Super Hero Marigolds--100% germination, about a 95% success rate, with almost all of the plants now blooming! So, needless to say, I'm very disappointed with the Easy Wave petunias, especially for a plant that is supposed to be "easy to grow."
