Description / Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry
Highly popular with gardeners far and wide, Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry is valued not only for fruit production but also for ornamental purposes and can fit beautifully into an edible landscape. A mid-season strawberry, producing generous harvests in late spring and early summer, Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry is highly productive, yielding huge, firm, extra juicy berries with gorgeous red color and super sweet flavor.
A Fragaria x ananassa variety, Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry is a vigorous plant with a fast growth rate and a low-growing, rounded habit of compound leaves, forming a dense, mounding rosette. The plants spread by stolons that root at the nodes. They produce loose clusters of 5-petaled, yellow-centered, white flowers followed by plump, dangling fruits. Suitable for garden and patio pots.
Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry prefers full sun and fertile, organically rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil. Cold hardy, it grows well in a wide range of climates and may remain evergreen in frost-free regions. Vernalization is beneficial but not required. Strawberries generally benefit from a generous layer of mulch to maintain soil temperature and moisture. The plant is frost tolerant and deer and disease resistant, including to leaf scorch, powdery mildew, and five races of red stele.
Your order will include 20 young bare root plant starts.
