Description / Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry

Highly popular with gardeners far and wide, Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry is valued not only for fruit production but also for ornamental purposes and can fit beautifully into an edible landscape. A mid-season strawberry, producing generous harvests in late spring and early summer, Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry is highly productive, yielding huge, firm, extra juicy berries with gorgeous red color and super sweet flavor.

A Fragaria x ananassa variety, Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry is a vigorous plant with a fast growth rate and a low-growing, rounded habit of compound leaves, forming a dense, mounding rosette. The plants spread by stolons that root at the nodes. They produce loose clusters of 5-petaled, yellow-centered, white flowers followed by plump, dangling fruits. Suitable for garden and patio pots.

Fragaria 'Allstar' Strawberry prefers full sun and fertile, organically rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil. Cold hardy, it grows well in a wide range of climates and may remain evergreen in frost-free regions. Vernalization is beneficial but not required. Strawberries generally benefit from a generous layer of mulch to maintain soil temperature and moisture. The plant is frost tolerant and deer and disease resistant, including to leaf scorch, powdery mildew, and five races of red stele.

Your order will include 20 young bare root plant starts.

Beautiful Bareroot Plants-But Not Sure They Are Seascape 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

Ordered a pack of 20 bareroot Seascape Strawberries. I actually received 24! Planted them and they immediately started to grow. Within a few weeks, they were already pushing blooms. I removed them from most of the plants, but decided to allow a few plants to bear fruit. The strawberries that are being produced, look nothing like the ones pictured. The fruit is very pointed and almost triangular shaped. The few I have eaten, have very little flavor. I'm really wondering, if I received the correct variety. Hoping as they mature through the summer, that they improve.

when I received these plants they were dead, but I planted them anyway and nothing happen. I'm not sure if they were sent that way or because it took so long to receive them after they were shipped (10 day's). Very disappointed

Disappointing transplant 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

I ordered the bareroot plants due to the anticipated value of 20 plants over the higher cost of live plants. Only seven bareroot plants have survived (in a greenhouse) and those seven are not impressive so far. Looks like I will have to wait until next season for a harvest if they make it that long. Pictures and description looked good.

Only 2 of the 20 crowns grew after planting. Not sure if I didn't something wrong, but I didn't have any issues the seascape or whopper varieties that also came in at the same time.

All soaking wet and moldy 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

I ordered these along with 4 other varieties and these arrived soaking wet and molded crowns. Planted them and 2 weeks later no sign of life. The others I ordered from Parks were in varying condition and one looks great 2 weeks later but the others only about half look good. My locally purchased and ones I planted from seed were much cheaper and are doing great. I wish I had thought to take pics of them before planting them or just sent them back for a refund.
