Description / Gaillardia REALFLOR® 'Sunset Celebration'
Gaillardia Realflor® 'Sunset Celebration' is a deciduous perennial offering 3 seasons of interest. Long and heavy blooming, the plant flowers profusely in daisy-esque blooms over an exceptionally long period, from early spring into fall. Borne singly on very strong, upright stems, the brightly colored flowers have a single row of bold, vivid red rays that age well and refuse to fade. They make excellent cuts for kitchen table bouquets or floral arrangements. Nectar rich, the flowers attract bees and butterflies, and Goldfinches appreciate the seeds going into winter.
A Gaillardia x grandiflora, also known as blanket flower, 'Sunset Celebration' has a compact, mounding habit of bushy gray-green foliage. It is shown to best effect when planted in groups in beds, borders, and containers.
Easy care, blanket flower thrives in full sun and average, well-draining soil and may naturalize in wild areas. It is heat and drought tolerant, once established.
