Description / Georgia Jets Sweet Potato Slips

Days to Maturity: 85 from direct sow

Good for Northern areas where the growing season is shorter, Georgia Jets Sweet Potato matures quickly and delivers big yields. The potatoes are often huge, with dark red skin protecting the moist, very succulent bright orange flesh (ready in just 3 months).

Easy to grow and nutritious, sweet potatoes also store well. Set these slips 12 to 15 inches apart in 3-foot rows in a sunny, well-drained spot. After harvest, cure the potatoes in a warm (85 degrees Fahrenheit is preferable) location for 2 weeks, then store at 60 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 to 8 weeks.

Bare Root Sweet Potato Definition:
Also known as slips.
Slips are sprouts grown from a mature sweet potato's eye.
Genetically identical to the parent potato.
A faster way to grow potatoes vs seed.

NOTE: Sweet potato slips are shipped separately from seed orders, at proper planting time for your area.

95 pounds in 4x16 bed! 0 people found this helpful

    Rating

We planted 16 slips in a 4 foot by 16 foot by 1 foot raised bed and got 95 pounds of good-sized, dark red and blemish-free sweet potatoes out of it. Used drip tape irrigation. Couldn't ask for more. 08/06/18 harvest date.
