Description / Hemerocallis South Seas
The large, overlapping petals have ruffled edges, adding a bit of texture to your garden. The deep orange tones are streaked with bright peach and fuchsia pink, adding interesting dimension. The light mango-colored center emphasizes the upright deep orange antlers that seem to reach for the sky.
Hemerocallis South Seas blooms fully at about 5 inches wide, and are generously scattered all over the plant that produces 30 to 35 buds.
Like most Daylilies, Hemerocallis South Seas is wonderfully resistant to drought, heat, and humidity, and thrives in any soil, even those of poor fertility. It can be sheared mercilessly in late fall, only to return with fresh beauty in spring. One of the few perennials that is truly care-free, it returns almost effortlessly.
'South Seas' reaches 30 inches tall. Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart in full sun and moist, well-drained soil, and water well the first year to get them established. Hardy in zones 3-9.
