Description / Hula™ Red and White Mix Begonia Seeds
Begonia Hula™ Red & White Mix contains Begonia interspecific varieties, commonly called interspecific begonia or spreading begonia. Tender perennials, typically grown as annuals, Hula™ varieties are highly branched spreading begonias that quickly fill landscape beds and containers. Daylength neutral, they are the earliest interspecific type to flower. Hula Red & White Mix varieties cover their graceful cascades of lush, shiny foliage in masses of red and white blooms from early spring to late summer, putting on a fabulous season-long show, which often lasts well into autumn.
The trailing habit of Hula Red & White Mix varieties is perfect for hanging baskets or tall mixed containers, from which their arching stems can overflow and elegantly drape. But they are also beautiful in landscapes, where they blanket beds in brilliant color.
Tough, durable, and low-maintenance plants, interspecific begonias grow best in dappled sun to partly sunny locations with rich, organic, moist, well-draining soils.
Start begonia seeds indoors 8 to 12 weeks before the last frost date and transplant. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.
This seed comes as a pellet. Pelleted seeds are small seeds that have been clay-coated to make them larger and more uniform in size and shape, making them easier to handle when planting.
