Description / Hydrangea Incrediball® Smooth Hydrangea

A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, Incrediball® Smooth Hydrangea offers huge flowers on strong stems that truly are incredible: the round flower clusters are more than a foot in diameter. This spectacular native shrub is the result of a breeding program to improve the stem strength of hydrangeas—which tend to flop over from the weight of the large blooms. You're going to love the results.

Like its parent plant Annabelle, the blooms of Incrediball Smooth Hydrangea begin pale green and mature to cream and pure white. They bloom on new wood, appear all summer into fall, and make fabulous cut flowers for fresh and dried arrangements.

This shrub reaches as much as 5 feet tall and wide and thrives in partial shade. It is easy to grow, requiring only regular moisture and well-drained soil to maintain its lush beauty.

A native plant, Incrediball is indigenous to North America. Native plants are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly. Naturally adapted to the climate and soil conditions of the region, they thrive without fertilizers or extra watering, once established. They also act as natural pest controls, reducing the need for pesticides in the garden. Landscaping with native plants promotes biodiversity and provides shelter and quality food for wildlife and pollinators, bringing gardens to life.

I purchased this hydrangea 18 months ago and planted in the Fall. I planted next to my front door. It gets West- Northwest sun exposure. The first year it did not bloom. It bloom this Summer. It has 8 nice sized blooms, though none are basketball sized. The lime green to white coloring is very pretty. The plant is at least 4 feet tall. We recently had a heavy rain storm with high winds and the stem did droop, but none broke. The stems recovered in 24 hours. I am keeping an eye out to see how long the flowers last. I would recommend this plant.
