Description / Ilex Sky Box®
The perfect formal accent for garden entrances, elegant hedges, and standout specimens, this dwarf Japanese Holly always looks freshly sheared, yet needs no pruning at all to keep its neat, symmetrical, rigidly columnar shape!
Just 4 to 5 feet tall and no more than 3 feet wide at maturity, it's the slimmest Ilex crenata yet! The fresh green foliage of this Holly is lush and healthy year-round, held on branches that point directly up to the sky. So elegant!
Once established, this is a very low maintenance tree, and it's adaptable to stresses from less-than-ideal soil to drought! And although it looks fussy with its symmetrical habit, it needs no attention to keep that tight, lush habit. You must find a place of honor for this standout. Needs a good winter mulch in zone 5. Zones 5-8.
