Neat in the heat, Janie Yellow Marigold is both the earliest and most floriferous French marigold we know, earning our highest recommendation for garden performance and nonstop beauty. Beginning just 6 weeks after sowing and continuing all summer long, these sunny, 2-inch blooms drape the dwarf 8- to 10-inch plants in a soft mantle. Both the blooms and the plant keep their neat shape despite hot weather—this dwarf reaches just 8 to 10 inches high and 6 to 8 inches wide, with an exceptionally uniform habit.
Very free-blooming, Janie Yellow Marigold is a great choice for the front of the border, edging, and containers of all types. Even effective as a nematode-repellent in the vegetable garden. And the yellow blooms really bring in the butterflies.
Sow direct Janie Yellow Marigold Seeds in the garden when the soil has warmed, or start seeds indoors in late winter. Very easy to grow in the sunny garden.

Best Small Marigold Ever 4 people found this helpfulI've grown Janies every year for the last six years and they're spectacular performers. All the seeds come up and grow as exactly as advertised. They produce tons of flowers all summer long and are heat and drought tolerant. I use them in all my borders because they're very uniform in height and size.

Always Delivers! 4 people found this helpfulYou can't buy a better border Marigold at any price. I use them every year and they never fail. They're super reliable, make tons of long lasting blooms, are easy to grow, loves our heat. The orange variety performs identically. They're extremely uniform in both plant and bloom size, what you want in a border. Lasts through the Fall here in Southern California. Order them early as they often sell out. Can't say enough about this variety!

Excellent bloomer all summer long 2 people found this helpful100% germination. I planted these in yellow and orange in early May in Northern Oklahoma (zone 7) and they have filled in every nook and cranny in the flower bed and are still blooming profusely in early September. Goes well with the Arizona sunset hummingbird mint which is also still outperforming all of my other flowers.

Oh, my! 1 people found this helpfulI don't know WHAT variety of marigold you sent me, but it sure wasn't Janie. Janie is neat, tiny, and gorgeous, and in full bloom in just 6 weeks. What you sent me is gangling and sparsely flowered. The flower heads stand on spindly stems inches above an ugly plant that took weeks longer to start to bloom. It spoiled the look of my porch garden.

Janie Yellow needed no dead heading and tolerated my benign neglect when it came to watering in July & August. It put on a bright, fresh looking show up through October. Vigorous, neat in habit and quick to bloom.

Small but Mighty 2 people found this helpfulI've grown this 2 years in a row and plan on this year, as well. These are short in stature but produce a mass abundance of blossoms all summer long up until the first frost. YLike previous reviewer mentioned they do have a red tinged center when openning but open fully to a bright clear yellow. As with all marigolds dead heading is a must to keep looking tidy and encourage more blooms.
