Description / Sweet Bay Laurel Shrub

Consider making this Mediterranean native a permanent part of your herb garden, even if you live far north of its zone 8-11 hardiness range. It is fragrant and beautiful, and if planted in a container will keep itself just 4 to 5 feet high. Its dried leaves superbly season meats and vegetables, and its gentle beauty is as pleasing indoors during winter as it is outside from spring through fall.

When planted in garden soil where it is hardy, Sweet Bay Laurel can reach 40 to 50 feet tall over time, but it easily adapts its size to the available root space, which makes it a great container choice. Long-lived and very low maintenance, it is a must-have for cooks and gardeners alike. If you're in search of an attractive, fragrant, long-lived plant that is very easy to care for look no further than Sweet Bay Laurel.

Scale and Insect damage 1 people found this helpful

    Rating

I had two orders for this plant. Two of them arrived in one shipment and were nice specimens, about 8" and full. I received one in another shipment that looked like a different variety, with scalloped leaves. Closer inspection revealed it had insect damage throughout and was covered in scale. I quickly resealed the package so that my other plants wouldn't be contaminated. I emailed Park asking how to return or dispose. Five days later and no response. (2nd time an inquiry was made with no response). I'll call today, but don't plan on doing more business if this is reflective of their customer service.
