Description / Lonicera Berry Blue™
Berry Blue is a honeyberry of Eastern Europe producing very high yields of richly flavored fruit that ripen two weeks before strawberries in late spring to early summer. The shrub of Berry Blue is lush and dense, covered in flowers leading to dark blue, sweet, antioxidant-rich berries perfect for juice, pies, preserves and snacks.
Best for sunny to partially shaded areas, Berry Blue reaches a compact 5 feet high and wide. Pest and disease resistant, it is hardy to up to -40 degrees F. Best in mulched gardens for soil moisturization. Plant near another Honeyberry variety for richer crops from both. Zones 2 to 7.
