Description / Mammoth Melting Organic Snow Pea Seeds

Days to Maturity: 70

This tall pea vine is a hardy annual that gives continuous yields! Perfect for growing on a trellis, this pea plant will have you canning, freezing, steaming, and stir frying peas for days to come. An heirloom favorite and an outstanding winter crop. This pea is one of the best edible podded peas and is stringless and sweet.

To conserve space and simplify harvesting, sow in double rows with a trellis between rows. Help the young vines to begin climbing up the fence or trellis as soon as they are able. Snow peas are a delicious treat in stir-fries, soups, and as a stand-alone side dish. Add Snow Pea Mammoth to your vegetable patch this season.

Easy to grow, peas love cold weather, so plant as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Direct-sow 1 to 2 inches apart and 1 to 1½ inches deep. Peas are also ideal as a fall crop started in late summer. To conserve space and simplify harvesting, sow in double rows with a trellis between rows.

Pkt is 2 oz. (approx. 200 seeds); (sows approx. a 10 to 12 foot row)

I plant these every year 2 people found this helpful

This amazing variety has grown in my greenhouse every year and will attain a height of nine to ten feet trellised (must be trellised) producing flowers and peas from April to mid July. I interplant Park's Fragrant Giants Nasturtium with the pea seeds most years in mid-February, when the indoor temps go from a crazy 35 degrees F to the eighties! This pea can really take the heat, as my passive solar greenhouse can get up over a hundred degrees when the sunshine is steady. I am in NW MT so the days are really long as summer approaches. The nasturtiums give up and go to seed about a month before the peas quit. But what a super companionship! Later in early October any seeds I missed that dropped into the mulch rise up again and the pea vines will produce again about early December. I highly recommend this pea, however I can't grow it outdoors because of birds, voles, and bunnies, etc. take the plants out. Bummer.

This variety always grows well and produces many delicious, large pea pods. I purchase this variety every year because it never disappoints. My daughter is a fan as well!
