Description / Marley's Pink® Japanese Snowbell
Treat your landscape to an exotic specimen with this reliable, weeping Japanese snowbell. Marley's Pink® Japanese Snowbell grows 8 to 10 feet tall and then trails branches down, creating a very elegant, flowing look. And this is to say nothing of the blushing pink petals, the showy red calyces, the cotton-candy fragrance, or the oversized foliage that turns bright lemon-yellow in the fall.
Growing at a medium rate, this long-lived snowbell will add all-season interest to the landscape for 40 years or more. Plant it in a sheltered spot with part shade and moist, well-drained soil. Compact enough for patio containers, Marley's Pink® also boasts such an incomparable bloom show that it screams to be used singly in specimen plantings.
The leaves are both wider and longer than other snowbells, and also boast a glossy sheen that accents the dainty blossoms beautifully. The weeping habit is more reliable than most, and happens to be the ideal way to display its clusters of pendulous pink blooms. These blooms open from late-May to mid-June, offering up a sweet cotton-candy-like fragrance. Add an excellent record of resisting pests and disease to Marley's Pink®'s list of merits, and it is clear that this is one of the greatest ornamental trees of all time.
