Mini Ornamental Mint Seeds
Description / Mini Ornamental Mint Seeds
Have you grown Corsican mint yet? It's one of the smallest in the family, with a prostrate, ground-hugging habit and tiny leaves topped by even smaller blooms in midsummer. For filling space and exuding a fresh, cheery peppermint scent from spring 'til frost, there's simply nothing better.
This ornamental mint is perfect for filling baskets, flowerpots, and sunny garden patches with strong scent and rich color that lasts all season. It's easy to grow because the seeds are packed into pellets, with each pellet producing several seedlings. Now you don't have to worry about sowing multiple seeds, thinning young plants, and all that. Just stick one pellet in a 4-inch pot, and before you know it, you'll have bright green shoots spilling over the sides and more peppermint scent than the day before Christmas.
Mini Ornamental Mint reaches just 2 to 4 inches high but quickly spreads up to a foot wide. It will spill over the sides of containers, forming attractive trailing stems that need no rooting at their tips to look great all season. Tiny mauve flowers will appear in midsummer, but you may miss them altogetherthis annual is all about the perfect foliage.
Give this mint full sunshine in all but the warmer climates, where it appreciates dappled shade or morning sun and afternoon shade. Keep it watered for best growth. Then sit back to enjoy one of the easiest and most beautiful (in color and fragrance) plants of your garden.

Cool plant 0 people found this helpfulI thought I'd try something new. This plant had a good germination rate. 9 out of 10. Grew thick and is a very nice green color. Too soon for the flowers. I used the plants in one of those terracotta pots with the holes in the side similar to the one pictured with the ad. I put the plants in the holes on the sides. It is July now and the plant hugs the sides and has nearly covered the container. As a watering hint for one of these plant pots I would put a watering tube down through the middle so it is not so hard to get water to the bottom layers. I also put several of the plants in a raised bed with other plants. It has spread out over the soil and I don't need to mulch to keep out weeds. The companion plants are doing fine so having living mulch is not crowding them out. Definitely growing these next year.
