Indeterminate
Ultra-sweet, highly productive, disease resistant, and early to matureit's no exaggeration to say that Nectar has it all. This cherry type is a little powerhouse of fabulous flavor and over-the-top yields, just what gardeners like us are always looking for.
The best-tasting cherry yet, Nectar is very low in acids and high in sugars, so you get a honey-sweet crunch that's really mouthwatering. Most cherries are big on looks and short on flavor, but not these ½-ounce fruits. They appear in clusters of about 18 to 20 on vigorous indeterminate plants, so stake or cage this plant well and get ready for generous harvests all summer long.
Start seeds indoors 5 to 6 weeks before the last frost date. Plant outdoors when danger of frost is past and night temperatures consistently remain above 55°F. If an unexpected late frost is forecasted, protect young plants with plastic sheeting or other cover. Set plants 2 to 2½ feet apart.
